TINGSHUO
YANG

Organist, Pianist, Composer

Above all, I like the spontaneous creative power, which, in interpretations that are both thoughtful and elegant, does justice to what Bach noted on the title page of the score, namely that this is music composed for music lovers "to delight their minds".

What becomes clear while listening to the album is that Tingshuo Yang uses Bach's polyphonic structures - that is, the passages where several melodies can be heard simultaneously - to guide the ear. Sometimes he emphasises one melody more, some times another, so that one can discover the different layers while listening.
